WE NEED YOU ON OUR NEW DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE!

Want to share your passion for League?

We are looking for some members for ournewly formed Development Committee - could it be you?

Let me answer now the primary reason you may not want to join our committee - you don't feel comfortable asking anyone for money, even if the cause is as great as League. Well - you won't need to! We need your ideas, your energy, your questions, and your passion for League. Fundraising is as much about passion as it about money.

We plan to explore opportunities forsponsorships for our events. Maybe you know someone I could contact, or maybe you know of a good option through local corporate philanthropy.

We plan to explore grant opportunities as well. This entails a little research and a little writing. Maybe this is a skill you want to explore or develop - here's your chance!

We wish to find ways to raise funds in a manner that benefits our local Leagues as well as State League. Maybe some fundraising webinars. Maybe some combined direct mail pieces.

I work professionally in the development field, and I find it be a perfect outlet for my convictions and beliefs. (check out http://www.childadvocates.net for my current passion) And because of my experience, if anyone is asking for money, it's likely to be me in partnership with our State League leadership.

This entire efforts begins with you. Do you personally support our State League? Do you know how easy it is to sign up for monthly giving? Visit our website, http://www.lwvin.org and consider a gift before the end of this year.

Doesn't this sound like fun? Or at least a way to develop a new skill. This will help our State League, and your local League.

You can contact me for more information anytime! My email is tracy.heaton@aol.com or 317/727-8895Let's have some fun in 2023!
